Friday September 12th, 2008Today is GF's 3rd birthday! God DAMN, three years? I'm a regular fucking Sluggy Freelance...I ate my cake (not the whole thing), my steak and gas-enducing veggies. I wonder what I've done with my own life. It was a very bittersweet day. Being in the middle of the week like that, I understand not everyone is able to visit, so I spent most of my day alone cooking and scanning. I got too short-tempered to color (fucking up on one page irreversibly does that to me...). I was uninspired so I didn't try out my fancy art supplies or read my comic textbook. I kind of wasted the day. Maybe I'll go get chinese on Saturday. Anyway, I didn't make a birthday image for this year. GF (me) got some nice presents for our third.
I also got some nice gifts. But I decided to really treat myself this year. I've drawn an image of Tlaloc. A nice image of Tlaloc. More or less illustrating his physical beauty and whatnot. And it's just for me. I'm going to hang it on my wall and work on it over time, maybe ink it one day. Or add a background. Who knows? That's the great thing about things like drawings. It's as though I'm not sharing it because I want people to invade my home and steal it from me and sell it. It's to prove to myself that I do art for myself before anyone else. A reminder hopeless and depressed artists need to have. No, it's not fap fodder. Christ... I've also written the name of the song on the image so if I need inspiration to work on it again I'll know where to look. I can share the song with you; it's Cake's "Satan is my motor". A pretty unnoteworthy song, but it had the right mood. |
